Well I have finally gotten round to looking at the photos we took at this years Volkworld Show. The show was really very good and seeing as we are currently planning our next VW Van project after having sold our T25 in January it was great to see vans of all types to get some ideas.

What I love about the Volksworld show is the range of outstanding camper interiors on display. During the day I think I changed my mind about 8 times regarding what sort of layout interior I want for our upcoming project!

Anyway… I thought I would share with you some of the photos we took whilst at the show, although it was so busy it was hard to get any really good shots, but for those of you that were not able to attend this should give you an idea of what was on display: (more…)

I have finally gotten around to looking through our photos of this years Vanfest event. Unfortunately, we had to go up in the car as our T25 was off the road at the time. We stayed in a Travel Inn in Gloucester so I can’t say we got the full effect and atmosphere of the event, but it was fun nevertheless.

The vans on display in the ‘Show and Shine’ competition were truly inspiring. I think my favourite had to be the incredibly low rat style red Split Screen. However, the ‘Pool Bay Hooker’ Bay Window was also very cool as was the immaculate Komet (I think) T25 with the hard side pop top and the cool 80’s stereo and badminton rackets inside.

As I said, it was a bit of quick stop off for us before getting back on the road so we only had about 5 hours at the event but I thought I would share some of the photos we took on the day. (more…)

Well, it is that time of year where the VW Bus and Camper shows seems to be coming one after another. A few weeks ago I posted some photos from the Dubs at the Beach event in Paignton and those of you that follow me on Twitter will have seen some more show photos tweeted whilst I attended the Cornwall VW Jamboree 2009 last Sunday.

I have never been to this event, which is held at the Stithians Agricultural Show near Redruth and unfortunately due to the rather bad weather combined with a tight schedule I can’t say I had too long to sit back and enjoy the atmosphere! 

Nevertheless, there were some truly inspirational VW Vans on show so I thought I would show you some of the photos we shot whilst at the event. (more…)

Anyone following me on Twitter will know that over the weekend I was tweeting plenty of photos of VW camper vans. This is because I am lucky enough to have a very good Volkswagen Camper Van and Bus Show held right on my doorstep. I first stumbled upon the Dubs at the Beach show in it’s first year in 2005. Back then we had just returned from a 6 month trip around the world (a lot of which was done in a camper van - see here, here and here) and we had decided we wanted a VW Van.

We were just heading out the door one Sunday afternoon in August to view a Bay Window van in Truro. Don’t get me wrong, this was certainly not a show model but we just wanted to start getting some ideas as to what we wanted. As we were getting in the car we had a call from a friend of ours saying ‘you know you were looking for a Volkswagen Camper Van? Well get down the seafront now as there is loads of them here!!’ (more…)
