Happened across your blog, I’m looking for a 70s Westy, but I just wanted to let you know I had a 68 type2 bay window bus from Humbolt County that I drove from Calif to Maine and back again MANY times. It was my home for 3 years. It had 350,000 miles when the speedo/odo gave up. I gave it to a VW guy in Maine who fully restored it and it’s back on the road. Humbolt County rocks. So does Maine. Have a blast.
