VW Shows: Cornwall VW Jamboree 2009 - Redruth Cornwall
Well, it is that time of year where the VW Bus and Camper shows seems to be coming one after another. A few weeks ago I posted some photos from the Dubs at the Beach event in Paignton and those of you that follow me on Twitter will have seen some more show photos tweeted whilst I attended the Cornwall VW Jamboree 2009 last Sunday.
I have never been to this event, which is held at the Stithians Agricultural Show near Redruth and unfortunately due to the rather bad weather combined with a tight schedule I can’t say I had too long to sit back and enjoy the atmosphere!
Nevertheless, there were some truly inspirational VW Vans on show so I thought I would show you some of the photos we shot whilst at the event.
All in all the event seemed well organised and despite the bad weather there were a lot of people camping in there vans and in tents. Many people were simply sitting back in there cosy campers drinking coffee and watching the rest of us get wet!
There were a number of trade stands at the event so plenty to look around and the numerous snack and coffee vans that were dotted around had queues a long way back!
Well, after some quick photos and a dash around the show ground we were back in the car heading home.

Would have to be the Type 1 samba pictured first!
Though fave overall gotta be a totally slammed T2 and a well pimped T4 in black, neither of which is pictured above. When I get a proper net connection next week I’ll upload some of the pics I took.
As for atmosphere and review, well I was probably there for less time than yourself and only caught the stalls as they were closing on the saturday. Few spare part traders, some general associated stuff and a few food vans.
Didn’t stay long enough to sample the entertainment but overall the atmosphere appeared bright even if the weather wasn’t!
Hi, would dozens of these wonderful old vans been travelling north up the M5 and M6 on the afternoon of Sunday 13th? We saw almost 40 during our trip home from Gloucester. On Friday 11th we counted about 8 on our evening drive south.
We were so interested to see so many that I promised I’d search the web today for details.

All of those vans would have been heading up to Vanfest 2009 - we got back from the event last night. We have taken loads of photos which will be published on the blog shortly. Vanfest is a great event which I would recommend you head up to next year!
